Culture is central to learning. Culture plays a role not only in communicating and getting information, but it also shapes the thinking process of groups and individuals. Pedagogy recognizes, responds to, and praises the important cultures that are equitable access to education for students from all cultures. According to Gloria Ladson−Billings, It is an approach that empowers students intellectually, socially, emotionally, and politically by using cultural referents to impart knowledge, skills and attitudes.† Improving the school achievement of students of color who currently are not doing well in school requires comprehensive knowledge, opinions, and high-level pedagogical skills.
